Turnout in remote areas did not suit him.

"According to our assumptions, it should have been higher, but it turned out to be even lower than the average regional level," explained Kaminikov.

A total of 42 complaints were received by the local Election Commission, 32 of them concern posters with inaccurate information submitted by Pavel Grudinin. Three complaints were justified and concerned the organization of the process.

Turnout in the Sverdlovsk region broke the previous record of 2000 (when in the region 61.36% voted) and amounted to 62.35%. Vladimir Putin scored in the region 74.60% of the vote.
