Britain, France, Germany and the United States issued a joint statement in which they described the poisoning of former GRU officer Sergei Skripal as a violation of the sovereignty of the United Kingdom. The text of the statement was published by the correspondent of Sky News Alistair Bunkall.
In the statement of the parties it is noted that during the attempt on the life of Skripal for the first time since the Second World War on the European continent, a nerve-paralytic substance used for military purposes and created in Russia.
"This is a violation of the sovereignty of Great Britain, and any action of this kind on the part of any state is a clear violation of the convention on chemical weapons and violation of international law," the statement reads. In London, Paris, Berlin and Washington regarded the case of the poisoning of Skripal as a threat to their security.
