Former Russian ambassador to the United States, member of the Federation Council from the Republic of Mordovia, Sergei Kislyak expressed the hope that in the United States they will listen to what Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his today's message to the Federal Assembly. He said this to RIA Novosti. "These are not new rules of the game," - so the senator commented on the words of the head of state about new domestic weapons.

"This is the president's signal that under all circumstances, peaceful development of our country will be ensured," said Kislyak. In his opinion, now the Americans are developing weapons systems, which, in particular, are aimed against Russia. "In order to resist this, it was necessary to take measures of our national defense programs. And it's done, "the ex-ambassador said.. He believes that "the United States is in such a political internal state, where it will take a lot of intellectual effort and time to return to a normal dialogue". The senator hopes that it will not take too much time. The American press has already reacted to Putin's story about the country's new nuclear weapons, which can not be intercepted by any missile defense system in the world.

And also the president's clear message that any nuclear attack on Russia will be seen as aggression, which will immediately and decisively receive an adequate response. So, according to the Washington Post, Putin's words "can be seen as a message to Washington over the deterioration of relations with Moscow, including in the investigation of the United States on Russia's interference in the presidential elections of 2016".

The authors noted that the Russian leader delivered a message less than three weeks before the election of the Russian president.
