This was stated by the head of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces, General Joseph Votel, speaking to the Committee on Armed Services of the US House of Representatives. In particular, "an increase in the number of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems in the region threatens the US ability to dominate the airspace," the general opened his eyes to the legislators. At the same time, Moscow, having interfered in the Syrian conflict, received a test site for its weapons, which also benefits the Kremlin, but it damages the interests of the White House. The US command recognizes that the presence in Syria has made Russia an influential player in the region for many years. But this is not enough:
