Belarus announced ambitious plans to reduce dependence on the Russian market. The first deputy minister of agriculture of the republic Leonid Marynich told about the reorientation of the country's export in the program of the ONT channel. Belarus supplies agricultural products to 70 countries of the world, including Italy, Great Britain, Egypt, China. In 2017, 15 new countries were added, where Belarusian products go. It's not just about selling raw materials, like 10 years ago, but about exporting processed products, the official said.. Marinich stressed that the country has also increased the efficiency of milk production. Agrarians do not just increase the herd population - they work with fodder, animal husbandry is being modernized.
Export of agricultural products in Belarus for the year 2017 set a real record. Exported products worth $ 5 billion. In 2016 - by 4.2 billion dollars. Marinich noted that Belarus is now getting rid of dependence on Russia. If earlier Minsk sent 97% of its production to Moscow, today it is about 91.4%. In general, as regards the level of food security, in terms of production of milk, meat, grain and eggs per capita, Belarus is not only ahead of all post-Soviet countries, but is ahead of such farmers as France and Germany.
