The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recommended that Ukraine bring the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on the reintegration of Donbass in accordance with the Minsk Agreements. This was reported on Thursday, January 25, by a representative of Kiev in the humanitarian subgroup for the rebellious region Viktor Medvedchuk. Noting that the Ukrainian delegation had not yet recovered after voting for the resolution on the protection and development of minority languages, "the PACE January session presented many surprises to the representatives of the official Kyiv," in particular, having approved "one extremely unpleasant" for the authorities of the Nezalezhnaya document. "The European parliamentarians voted in favor of the resolution on the humanitarian consequences of the war in Ukraine, which urgently needs to review the law on de-occupation, with glee adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on January 18," Medvedchuk said in the website of the movement "Ukrainian Choice - People's Right". He said that the amendment on the revision of the scandalous document was proposed by the deputy of the Rada from the "Opposition bloc" Vadim Novinsky. However, the Ukrainian authorities do not even mention this amendment. According to Medvedchuk, the delegation of Nezalezhnaya in Strasbourg once again can declare that the resolution of the Assembly is of a recommendatory character, but such a position threatens Ukraine with reputational losses. "Kiev's refusal to comply with the PACE demands will show the whole world that Ukraine has put an end to the Minsk agreements, and therefore, on the reintegration of the Donbass and the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict," Medvedchuk added.. According to him, Ukrainian pro-European politicians do not mention that the PACE resolution contains 16 demands to the authorities of Nezalezhnoye. On the eve of Novinsky, on his Facebook page, he wrote that the document approved by the European Parliamentarians "calls on Ukraine to reconsider the recently adopted so-called de-occupation law so that it is based on Minsk agreements and fully ensure the humanitarian needs and social protection of civilians in uncontrolled territories and in conflict zone ". Moreover, the resolution was adopted, including on the basis of the report of Lithuanian parliamentarian Egidius Vareiskis on the humanitarian disaster in Ukraine, where "more than 4 million people need help, the war killed more than 10 thousand people.
people (...) over 1.5 million people have become internally displaced persons and almost 500 thousand. seek refuge in other countries ".
The resolution instructs Kiev to release all detained persons, increase financial support for internally displaced persons, simplify the procedure for social payments, ensure the implementation of their electoral rights, and so on. I was glad to approve the law on the reintegration of Donbass, where the paragraph on the priority of the Minsk agreements was excluded from the original version, in the second, the final reading on January 19. "Opposition block" immediately made a decision to abolish the adoption of this document.
