In the ranking of the best countries in the world according to the magazine U. News & World Report The Russian Federation climbed one line, taking 26th place, according to the website of the newspaper.

On the 25th position is India, on the 27th - the Kingdom of Thailand. The first three places in the ranking were taken by Switzerland, Canada and Germany. Next are Great Britain, Japan, Sweden, Australia, USA, France, close the top ten Netherlands. It is noted that the rating from 80 countries of the world is made on the basis of 9 criteria: strength and international influence, economic growth, innovation, social sphere, culture, tourism, historical heritage, openness to business and the general standard of living. Russia scored the maximum number of points (10 out of 10) for such indicators as "military power", "political influence" and "leader" with a common minimum (0 points) in the category of "openness to business".

By force and influence, the Russian Federation lost only to the United States, ahead of China.

Russia and the PRC "are perceived as the most powerful states after the United States and fall into the four countries with the most extensive defense spending". At the same time, Russia in this indicator is actively catching up and overtaking the Americans, representing "one of the largest arms exporters in the world, also having passed the USA in the first place," writes U. News & World Report. Weak analysts have called tourism a weak point of the Russian Federation (places are picturesque but weather conditions are severe), and in terms of openness to business, Russia took the last, 80th place due to high corruption and excessive bureaucratization of entrepreneurship.

Russia found itself on the penultimate - 79th - as a "country for comfortable retirement", but took the 22nd place among the countries with the best education in the world, the 41st as a country for child development, the 31st place as a country for women. However, quite a decent place Russia took the level of career opportunities - the 4th position. Here we are ahead of Turkey, Spain and the United Arab Emirates. The rating was compiled in cooperation with the consulting company BAV Consulting and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, based on opinion polls of more than 21,000 people of various professions and occupations around the world.
