The current president of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, wins the elections, because Russian special services are interested in this. This was stated by another candidate for the presidency of the republic, former head of the National Academy of Sciences Jiri Dragosh. On the air of the Czech radio Dragosh admitted that he had no evidence of Moscow interfering in the local presidential campaign. However, he is confident that Zeman is convenient for Russia, so it could well help the incumbent president to remain at the head of the country. At the same time, Moscow's goal is not specifically friendly relations with the Czech Republic, but the possibility through it to destructively influence NATO and the European Union, Dragosh explained, stressing that for Russia the North Atlantic alliance is the main enemy.
The first round of elections in the Czech Republic was held on January 12 and 13.
Of the 9 candidates for the second round, two went by - incumbent President Milos Zeman got 38.56% of the vote, and his closest rival Jiri Dragos - 26.59%.
The second round will be held on January 26 and 27. At the same time, four of the seven losing candidates have already called on their supporters not to allow Zeman's victory and for this vote for Dragosha. Earlier experts predicted Zeman that he was waiting for problems because of his loyal attitude to Russia.
