The decision to establish a Volunteer Day, adopted by President Vladimir Putin, will give a new impetus to the development of the volunteer movement in the Sverdlovsk region, Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev is convinced.

The head of state on the eve signed a decree on the establishment of Volunteer Day (volunteer), which will be celebrated on December 5. The document was adopted in accordance with the resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations of December 17, 1985, declaring December 5 International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development.

"Today, the Uralians of different ages and kinds of activity are involved in the volunteer movement. Our volunteers take part in world-class events - the World Summer Universiade in Kazan, the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi, the INNOPROM exhibition, the World Congress of People with Disabilities and many others. The big work is spent by volunteer-rescuers, the Urals, helping in hospitals and in social institutions. Many of them are genuine heroes, showing courage, courage and willingness to help those who are in a difficult situation, "said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

Recall, in 2017 in the Sverdlovsk region, the Governor's decision was declared the Year of Volunteers. The head of the region supported in this way the initiative of civic activists, aimed at developing the volunteer movement in the Urals.

In addition, at the beginning of November, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, within the framework of the execution of the instructions of the President of Russia, signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of volunteerism with the Association of Volunteer Centers and created one of the first Resource Center for Volunteering ".

Sverdlovsk volunteers also enthusiastically embraced the news about the establishment of the Volunteer Day.
