The elected governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev and the chairman of the regional election commission Valery Chaynikov on September 12 discussed the results of elections to the local self-government bodies of the region.
On a single day of voting in the Middle Urals, 49 local councils were elected, and in four territories direct elections of heads. According to Chaynikov, in all territories the elections were declared valid.
"Complaints, statements that would testify to the invalidity of the results, did not come. The elections were competitive. All information in the future will be included in the analysis of the work, in order to organize the following election campaigns, based on the achievements or shortcomings of this campaign, "- said the head of ICSD.
Chaynikov noted that already now a decision has been taken to hold additional elections for a deputy in one of the electoral districts in Nizhneserginsky district. There were no volunteers for the mandate of a deputy.
Yevgeny Kuivashev and Valery Chaynikov also discussed elective innovations of 2017, among which the QR code system used in the formation of protocols of precinct election commissions and video surveillance on sites in major cities.
"The Sverdlovsk region has always been a leader in the application of new technologies.
At the election of the President of Russia in 2018 will be one hundred percent application of video surveillance systems. All polling stations will be equipped with such systems. Also, the use of new technologies for the formation of protocols of precinct commissions using the QR code system will be provided without fail. In addition, this year we tested the voting procedure at the location of the voters. Based on all innovations and our own practice, we will conduct analysis, formulate proposals and additions to the Central Election Commission, "explained Valery Kaynikov.
