Representatives of the movement of French President Emmanuel Macron "Forward, Republic" received 308 out of 577 seats in the National Assembly. The official results of the second round of the parliamentary elections held on Sunday, June 18, were announced in the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Macron party has an absolute parliamentary majority. Given the 42 mandates that the members of the Democratic Movement party have achieved, the legislative power in the Fifth Republic is now completely pro-presidential. On the second place in terms of the number of seats in the current parliament, the center-right party "Republicans" - it has 113 mandates. The Socialist Party won 29 seats, the center-right "Union of Democrats and Independent" - 18, the "Unconquered France" of Makron's former rival for the presidential race of Jean-Luc Melancheon - 17, the Communist Party of France - 10.

The "National Front" of Makron's main opponent in the election of the head of the Republic of Marin Le Pen was the least likely in the National Assembly: only 8 party members went to parliament. Among them, the very leader of the ultra-right party. Note that despite a long life in politics, Marin Le Pen first became a member of Parliament.

At the same time, to say that the French do not trust women in power is completely wrong. In the new composition of the lower house of France, more than a third of the seats - 223 out of 577 - were taken by women. This is a kind of record for the country - in the National Assembly of the previous convocation, for example, there were 155 women. It is interesting that half of the current deputies represent the presidential movement "Forward, the Republic".

Now the party-winner will be forming the new government of France. The acting Cabinet should resign within the next few days. However, it is unlikely that the Fifth Republic in this regard expect shocks. The current government is already based on the movement "Forward, the Republic," so most likely most ministers will retain their posts. The official representative of the Cabinet Christophe Kastaner already called the forthcoming resignation of the "technical", reports "France Press".
