Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andrei Parubiy said that the Pentagon is discussing the issue of providing the US with lethal weapons for Ukraine.

He made an advisory statement during an official visit to the US, the press service of the Ukrainian parliament.

"He (the question. - Red. ) Is not removed from the agenda, there are discussions on this issue. And if earlier there was a negative decision, today the issue remains open, "Parubiy said. According to him, the advisory question is of great importance for strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

"The allocation of weapons is discussed, it has both technical and symbolic significance for strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the United States," said Parubiy.

In addition, the Speaker of the Parliament noted that the main event to be held in Washington will be the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the US Congress and the Verkhovna Rada.

As reported by the "Observer", in March 2017, the House of Representatives of the Congress of the United States of America envisaged the allocation of $ 150 million for military support of Ukraine.
