At the same time, Romanyuk recalled that this decision was already made 14 years ago. "Ukraine is a kind of" time machine "that twice entered the same river. In 2003, such changes were made in two laws, but later canceled by Prime Minister Yanukovych on the eve of the first Maidan. The expert also recalled that Ukraine has not had a permanent representative to NATO for three consecutive years.

In his opinion, the adoption of the law could be timed for the visit to Ukraine of a NATO delegation headed by the Secretary General, appointed at the beginning of July this year.
