NATO member countries are avoiding specifics about the prospect of Ukraine's membership in the Alliance.

This was stated in the commentary to the "Observer" by the senior researcher of the National Institute for Strategic Studies Andrei Karakuts.

"There is an important aspect that the allies themselves, the NATO countries themselves are not in a hurry to say that Ukraine has a clear perspective. The NATO Secretary-General repeated several times that this issue is not relevant now, but they are ready to work closely with Ukraine and reach certain agreements on further integration at the level of technical, interaction, training and so on.. ", He stressed..

At the same time, he noted that much in this matter depends on Ukraine itself.

"At the last NATO summit in Warsaw, Ukraine was faced with ambitious tasks, and it undertook to fulfill them. On how it will fulfill them and will depend on how quickly she will join NATO, "- summed up Karakuts.

As reported by the "Observer", on June 8 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill 6470 on amendments to the legislation regarding the resumption of the course of Ukraine for membership in NATO.
