The head of the State Fiscal Service, Roman Nasirov, will not be able to receive iodine-123 radiopharmaceutical in Ukraine, which is necessary for his treatment, because of the specifics of this medicine.
This was in the commentary to the "Observer" said the head of the Isotope Isotope Division, Nikolai Budennyi.
"Radiopharmaceuticals in Ukraine are not produced, they are all imported from different countries. Isotope does not supply iodine-123 to Ukraine, because the half-life of this drug is 13.3 hours, too short to be delivered from any country. Accordingly, iodine-123 in Ukraine is not registered. The drug is used for diagnostic purposes in diseases of the thyroid gland. For diagnostics and treatment in specialized medical institutions in Ukraine iodine-131 is used, the half-life of which is 8 days, which allows it to be delivered in a usable state to medical institutions in Ukraine, "explained Budyonny.
As reported by the "Observer", the head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov asked to give him the opportunity to go to the US for treatment of papillary thyroid cancer according to the ATA protocol (the recommended course of treatment / follow-up is 5 years). However, the judge of the Solomensky court of Kiev, Alexander Bobrovnik, denied him this. According to reports, Nasirov needs a radioactive isotope of iodine "Yod-123", which is not available in Ukraine.
