The myth created by Russia about the "May 2 tragedy in Odessa" will live as long as there is a regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the "Observer" by famous Ukrainian artist from Odessa Alexander Roitburd.

"As long as this regime exists, the myth will penetrate here and own the minds. I hope that after the fall of the Putin regime, something more decent will come to power, and the myth will disperse, "said the artist.

Roitburd explained that he can not know exactly when this will happen, but still hopes that Putin's regime will end already during his generation's lifetime.

"As Madame de Stahl said about the murder of Paul the First," in Russia the autocracy is limited to strangulation ". Nobody knows how Putin's life is limited. Of course, the worst scenarios are also possible: Stalin died almost his own death, in bed, he was only helped in the end when he was already lying in a puddle of urine, "the artist summed up.

As reported by the "Observer", the network indicated how May 2 changed the history of Odessa.
