The Crimea annexed by Russia will return to Ukraine much earlier than would be desirable to the authorities of the Russian Federation.

This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, People's Deputy Refat Chubarov in an interview with "Apostrophe".

"It will be during our lifetime. We will return to the Crimea - otherwise it can not be, "he said..

According to Chubarov, the history of the Russian Empire and the USSR demonstrated that the Kremlin can not manage large areas.

"I think that many peoples who are against their will in the Russian Federation will also be very happy from such a development of events (the collapse of the Russian Federation, - Red. There is a powerful Tatarstan, there is Bashkiria, there are Buryats, there are Udmurts, there is the Caucasus, "noted the head of the Mejlis.

He also believes that Crimea will be returned diplomatically.

"I see the return of the Crimea as a result of military actions rather than military actions. But I understand that participation in the future fate of the Crimea will take a number of powerful players, "he said, adding that he has in mind the United States, the European Union, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Romania and Bulgaria.

"And why not?" These are the Black Sea countries. They will all have different weights. Not necessarily everything will be so. There is a large list of countries or even regional organizations established under another formula. The same EU or, say, NATO. And each of these players will announce their approaches, principles. And some will motivate why the Crimea should belong to one or another country, "said Chubarov.

As he says, despite the fact that Ukraine's position on the question of Crimea's belonging is the most durable, sometimes when searching for compromise by major world players, the norms of international law are ignored, for example, as at the Yalta Conference of 1945.

"And in this situation, to the motives that Ukraine will use regarding the inviolability of borders and territorial integrity, one can add a super-powerful argument: the right of indigenous people to self-determination. Only at the disposal of Ukraine is this powerful lever - the right of indigenous people to self-determination. No one else. And that's why we should be ready for such talks, "the chairman of the Mejlis.

As reported by the "Observer", earlier the Russians made a statement that the troops of Putin should be withdrawn from the Crimea.
