Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte predicts that the Dutch Senate will support the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on May 30.
This is reported by Radio Liberty.
"My prediction that the Senate will support this next week. After that, the Dutch government will be able to ratify the Association Agreement. This should happen next week, on Tuesday. We had a good debate about this last Tuesday (May 23rd. ), So now we can vote and ratify it, "he said..
Rutte also stressed that the ratification of the agreement is positive for the EU, Ukraine, and also for the Russian Federation, since this will help "stabilize the situation in the region".
Recall, in April 2016 in the Netherlands held an advisory referendum, in which the majority voted against the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
In mid-December, EU leaders agreed on the conditions for the completion of ratification by the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is the last EU country that has not completed the ratification of the agreement with Ukraine. In the case of a positive decision, the process will be completely completed.
As reported by the "Observer", during the debate on May 23, the Senate of the Netherlands formed a majority in support of the ratification of the Association Agreement Ukraine-EU.
