The government initiative, replacing the current pension reform with trade in insurance, is unacceptable. This was stated by the co-chairman of "Our Territory" Alexander Mazurchak, commenting on the presentation of the pension reform of the government.
He is convinced that the government should not require people to buy an already earned pension and blackmail society, but to comply with the law and modernize pensions.
"Recently the government, instead of presenting the long-awaited pension reform project, has limited itself to demonstrating a set of slides. It became clear from her that it is planned only to increase the requirements for the insurance period for retirement and the possibility to buy it if there is not enough, "said Alexander Mazurchak.
He noted that the bill itself has not yet been submitted to the National Council of Reforms and Parliament.
"Most likely, we learn about the content of the reform only after a backward coordination with the IMF. It is unacceptable. The authorities should begin a nationwide public discussion of the pension reform on content, "said Alexander Mazurchak.
He noted that instead of publicly discussing the problematic issues of pension innovations, the government is voicing exclusively populist reform provisions.
"The government continues to sound populist and contradictory provisions of the pension reform, which, in his opinion, should tempt Ukrainians to support government initiatives. We are talking about the so-called increase of social standards, automatic modernization of pensions after the reform, early retirement of representatives of certain professions and the like. At the same time, the Cabinet avoids discussion of disputable issues, namely: raising the minimum insurance period to 35 years, the abolition of insurance payments to disabled people, combatants, recipients of preferential pensions, and many others, "stressed Alexander Mazurchak.
He noted that the position of "Our Territory" remains unchanged - the government must adhere to pension legislation and immediately modernize pensions regardless of the pension reform.
"The slide set submitted by the government is not reform yet. Ukrainians have the right to know what kind of pension awaits them and what they can do to increase their pensions and pensions for their parents, "concluded Alexander Mazurchak.
Recall, on May 17 at the meeting of the Government, the main provisions of the draft Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding Pensions Raising", which should be earned after adoption by the Ukrainian Parliament from October 1, 2017.
As you know, in the Memorandum with the IMF on economic and financial policy in the section on pension reform, the authorities recognize the need to reform the pension system.
