Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Klimkin called the Crimea and the Donbass occupied by Russia the most "hot gray areas" in Europe.

About this, 112 Ukraine writes with reference to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

It is noted that Klimkin participated in the 127th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe at the level of heads of foreign affairs agencies, which was held in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The Ukrainian minister stressed that such "gray zones" can not exist on the territory of the European continent, since people there are de facto outside the protection of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Klimkin added that the example of the Crimea and Donbass can be seen as one specific state can consciously destroy the system of human rights protection on the continent.

The Minister also welcomed the importance of the decision of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on 3 May regarding the situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. He said that this decision should serve to the Council of Europe as a pointer to the restoration of all violated human rights in the Crimea. In addition, according to Klimkin, this is another step towards de-occupation of the peninsula.

As reported by the "Observer", Klimkin announced Ukraine's confident steps towards de-occupation of the Crimea.
