People's Deputy Nadezhda Savchenko wrote a letter to newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron.

The text of his message, written in English, the politician published in Facebook.

Savchenko congratulated Macron and all the French people on the victory and asked for help in the release of Ukrainian prisoners from Russian prisons, the settlement of the situation in the Donbass and the strengthening of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

"I ask you to maintain and even strengthen sanctions against the aggressor country - the Russian Federation, because the power of this country understands only strength and determination," the letter says..

The People's Deputy also expressed gratitude to France on behalf of all Ukrainians, for providing support to the Ukrainian people "in their desire to join the family of countries that profess democratic values, the inviolability of the territorial boundaries of other states, the rule of law, respect for international law".



"I will be very grateful if you give explanations to the Ukrainian people and the whole world regarding the steps of the future Administration of the French President on the issues that have been presented," she concluded..

Recall, the newly elected President of France Emmanuel Macron will take the oath and take office May 14.
