Electoral statements of French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron - a negative sign for the Russian leadership and a challenge for the leadership of Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed to the "Observer" by the Russian politician, the president of the All-Russian Public Movement "Union of Right Forces" Leonid Gozman.

Answering the question what steps Makron can take as president in the direction of helping Ukraine, the politician said: "It is obvious that under President Macron France will not leave the European ranks, it will remain in solidarity with the policy of a united Europe. How can this support be expressed? There will continue or even intensify pressure on the parameters that are significant for Russia. Perhaps there will be a strengthening of Atlantic solidarity, despite all previous statements by Trump. It is clear that his statements as president differ from the primitive isolationist policy that he declared when he came to power ".

At the same time Gozman stressed: "The level of support for the West that Ukraine can get depends not only and not so much on Western politicians. It depends on Ukraine. It depends on how successful you will be in overcoming corruption, for example, how successful you will be in carrying out judicial reforms, political reforms, and so on.. To what extent will Europe and the US see that Ukraine is really moving towards a normal European society. If they see it - of course, there will be support. If they are disappointed in this, they will look for options for moving away from their obligations ".

Commenting on Makron's recent pro-Ukrainian statements made during the televised debates, he stated: "This is a negative sign for Putin". "But for Ukraine this is more a challenge than a reward.

If you move normally, then they will support you, "the politician is convinced..

As the "Observer" wrote, French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron during a televised debate with his opponent Marin Le Pen called on Moscow to fulfill its obligations for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass. "I will not obey the dictates of Putin, and this is my difference from Ms. Le Pen," he said..
