Obolonsky district court of Kyiv authorized protection of former runaway president Viktor Yanukovych to organize videoconferences for the participation of their client in the judicial process.
"The court, having consulted on the spot, took the decision of the defense's petition to partially satisfy ... to give the side of the defense for Yanukovych's participation in the meeting by video communication," said Judge Vladislav Devyatko.
The judge noted that the accused Yanukovych was summoned to the preparatory hearing in accordance with the norms established by law.
Moreover, considering Article 6 of the Convention on Human Rights, as well as taking into account the practice of the European Court, the court considered it necessary to give the defense the opportunity to participate in the preparatory hearing by videoconference.
Devyatko also announced a break until 10:00 on May 18. Such a decision was made by the court after partial satisfaction of the motion of Yanukovych's defense to organize a videoconference with him.
Recall, during the court hearing on November 28 in the case of "Berkutov" suspected of killing the participants in the Revolution of Virtue, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced to Yanukovych a suspicion of high treason.
Running on Russia Yanukovych from November 28, 2016 is a suspect in criminal proceedings on the h. 1 st. 111 (high treason), h. 5 items. 27 h. 3 items. 110 (aiding in intentional actions committed with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory and state border of Ukraine in violation of the procedure established by the Constitution of Ukraine) and h. 5 items. 27 h. 2 items. 437 (aiding in the conduct of an aggressive war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
