Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev instructed the regional department of forestry and other competent departments to take comprehensive measures to promptly respond to natural fires, ensure the safety of settlements and infrastructure facilities. Traditionally, the May holidays are considered to be especially fire dangerous in the Urals, when the Urals, who yearn for heat in the winter, go to the nature massively, burn fires and fry shish kebabs.

Today in the Sverdlovsk Region there are 5 forest fires with an area of ??66.5 hectares, 4 of them are located. The level of preparation for the fire season and coordinated work of the departments allow eliminating 90% of the fires on the day of detection, and 99% of the fires are eliminated in the first day. So far, no wildfire has been transferred to human settlements.

"Serious work was done to prepare for the fire-dangerous period: equipment and personnel were prepared, patrols were organized, including by the forces of aviation. Well-proven space monitoring and video surveillance system. The fire danger in the region today is characterized by specialists as small or medium. Nevertheless, the issue is extremely serious. It is enough to see what is happening in the regions of Siberia. Therefore, any kind of ignition should be treated as serious, taking exhaustive measures for its speedy localization and elimination, "- Evgeny Kuyvashev.

According to the governor, in the overwhelming majority of cases the cause of fires is the human factor.

"I ask the residents of the Sverdlovsk region to take the most responsible approach to fire safety in the forests. Ahead of a long weekend, the Urals finally came warmly.

Nevertheless, I urge fellow countrymen not to build fire on nature, to observe all precautions when burning last year's foliage and grass in orchards and gardens, be sure to report emergency services about a natural fire. Security in many respects depends on us, "said the head of the region.

In the Sverdlovsk region there is a direct line of forest protection. Calling toll-free number 8-800-100-94-00 is automatically forwarded to the dispatching service of the Ural airbase for processing and commencement of operational actions for extinguishing.
