Sanctions against Russia became a real anguish for Poland. Most of them suffer from local farmers. Such statement was made by the deputy of the Diet, the leader of the Polish peasant party Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamish.
"We are committed to lifting the embargo on Polish products. It is necessary to change the strategy: it is possible to strengthen political sanctions, but to remove economic. Because of them, the most plagued Poland, "- said the politician edition of Wrpost.
According to him, this position is shared by manufacturers in many European countries, in particular - in France and Germany. For the lifting of sanctions, the leaders of a number of EU states. In particular, German Vice-Chancellor Zigmar Gabriel previously spoke about this. In his opinion, the sanctions against Moscow should be gradually abolished. The Polish government must uphold this position at the level of the European Union.
Kosinyak-Kamysh said that the lifting of sanctions against the Russian Federation will, in turn, agree on the withdrawal of Russian counter-sentiments against Polish agricultural producers. At the same time, the politician insists that in relation to the "Nord Stream-2" one must take an uncompromising stance.
The political leader of Polish farmers is not the first time against the trade restrictions imposed by Brussels. In April last year, on the air of the Polish Radio, he called for finding other, more effective methods for resolving the political conflict with Moscow.
"The political dispute with Russia continues, which affected Polish entrepreneurs. A bilateral embargo was introduced. Did the parties resolve the political dispute? Does someone remember today about the Crimea? Where are all the enthusiasts from the Maidan? "- said Kosinjak-Kamish.
According to him, "the situation showed that the effectiveness of economic arguments from one and the other side is low, they are not useful either for the European Union or for the settlement of a political conflict that must be resolved in a different way". In this regard, "it is necessary to abolish the embargo".
The leadership of the upper house of the Polish parliament is of the opposite opinion. About a month ago the Senate marshal Stanislav Karchevsky announced the impossibility of lifting the anti-Russian sanctions. Moreover, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda discussed with Ukrainian politicians the possibility of strengthening sanctions against Russia.
Meanwhile, Poland itself may soon be under the influence of European sanctions. To this was called the candidate for the presidency of France Emmanuel Macron. According to the politician, Warsaw "violates the principles of a united Europe". "When the rights and values ??of the European Union are not respected, I want [to demand] the imposition of sanctions," he said..
Poland came into conflict with the EU after a series of reforms that, according to Brussels, violate the democratic balance sheet. In particular, Warsaw is criticized for refusing to accept refugees. If the threats of Paris and Brussels are realized, the life of Polish peasants will become even more severe. In this situation, the authorities of the country would have the full moral right to change their obligations to the EU and resume full-fledged trade relations with the Russian Federation.
