The new Labor Code should work to create a competitive industrial economy. This was written on his Facebook page by an economist, leader of the New Ukraine Valery Konovalyuk.
Konovalyuk noted that according to the draft Labor Code, with which deputies are now working, the employer receives the sole right to determine everything practically without taking into account the position of trade unions.
"The draft Code also introduces dismissal for delay for 3 hours - for poor performance of labor duties. This will throw the country back one hundred years ago, when workers were forced through demonstrations and strikes to defend their labor and civil rights. The new Labor Code should work to create a competitive industrial economy. Ukrainian oligarchs are trying with his help to consolidate the slavish position of workers, maximizing the role of trade unions, "- wrote Konovalyuk.
The expert noted that our oligarchs are either modernizing their knowledge about the workforce and motivating employees, or they will be swallowed up by more modern corporations.
"To restart the Ukrainian economy, we need to restart the relationship of employers and employees. So both sides will benefit from each other. The new Labor Code needs to increase the role of trade unions for real protection of workers' rights, "emphasized Konovalyuk.
The economist recalled that he is the author of the first draft of the Labor Code, which was aimed specifically at increasing the productivity of labor and protecting the rights of workers.
"My project was much more progressive than the current version. Such documents lay the foundation for the country's development for decades.
In today's global economy, it is important to create jobs that will attract professionals, "said Konovalyuk.
The economist added that modern perspective corporations constantly improve the level of professionalism of their employees, offer compensatory packages in case of dismissal, create a creative environment.
"The Labor Code should create these new rules of the game", - concluded Konovalyuk.
