Consideration of the claim "Ukraine vs. Russia" by the United Nations International Court of Justice in The Hague will essentially begin in the summer of 2018. Such a suggestion was made by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian delegation in The Hague Elena Zerkal on the air of Channel 5 on Friday evening, April 21.

"This is the next year. I think that our memorandum will be somewhere in 6-8 months, and then next year there will be a review. Somewhere in the summer, "- said Zerkal, adding that the court session on the schedule for the consideration of the case will essentially take place on May 12.

According to the diplomat, the Russian side can insist on expedited consideration, without waiting for the Ukrainian memorandum as a matter of fact.

In addition, Ukraine is ready to provide the court with additional evidence of Russia's involvement in the financing of terrorism in the occupied areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

"We have a lot of facts that we collected in the years 2014-2015 about torture that were applied to Ukrainians, how it affected the atmosphere in the region affected by the conflict. Now we are fixing attention on the statements of the terrorists' leaders, tied to their behavior and intimidation of the population, "said Zerkal.

Recall, March 6, the International Court of Justice in The Hague began to consider a suit of Ukraine, demanding that Russia be brought to justice "for the support of terrorists" in the east of Ukraine and for discriminatory actions in the Crimea.

Ukraine accuses Russia of violating the two UN conventions to which both countries are parties - the international convention on combating the financing of terrorism in connection with the support of terrorists in the Donbass, and the international convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination in connection with the violation of rights and the persecution of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians On the peninsula.

On April 19, the International Court of Justice in The Hague denied interim measures against Russia on the suit of Ukraine regarding the financing of terrorism of the Donbass and human rights violations in the anecdotal Crimea.

In particular, the court decided that according to the Convention on Combating the Financing of Terrorism, there are no grounds for this.

At the same time, the Court agreed to the introduction of temporary measures in the matter of discrimination of national minorities in the Crimea.
