Representatives of the parliamentary factions at the meeting in the framework of the "Dialogue of Jean Monnet" agreed to introduce debates as a new form in the work of the parliament, said Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andrei Parubiy.
"The debate can be of two forms: on topical issues of the political agenda of the state, as well as the debate with the government to strengthen cooperation between the government and the Verkhovna Rada and strengthen the Verkhovna Rada's control function," Paruby said at a briefing in Kiev.
The speaker noted that following the results of the meeting in the "Jean Monet Dialogue" format, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday with the participation of representatives of all parliamentary factions, they also identified a number of other steps to reform the Ukrainian parliament.
In particular, the deputies agreed on the need to pass a law according to which in the next convocation of the parliament the number of committees should be correlated with the number of ministries. He recalled that such a bill has already been registered and included in the agenda of the work of Parliament - No. 6256.

At the same time, he noted that such an approach would allow to realize the rights of the opposition in the parliament.
Earlier it was reported that the European Parliament extended until 2019 cooperation with the Verkhovna Rada in the framework of the memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
