To protect the domestic subway in Russia will soon have special units. The corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. The document on Wednesday, April 5, was published on the government website.

The document also indicates that it is necessary to "ensure that the vulnerability assessment" of the subway is carried out within the next 3 months and submit its results to the Federal Agency of Railway Transport.

The resolution provides for the allocation of separate equipped rooms for the employees of transport security units at subway facilities; "For the temporary storage of objects and substances that are voluntarily surrendered or detected during the inspection, additional inspection and re-inspection," or for placing checkpoints and for conducting personal searches.

These requirements are mandatory for all carriers and apply to all legal entities and individual entrepreneurs operating at the objects of transport infrastructure of subways, the document.

This document was a reaction of the government to the incident on Monday, April 3, a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg, where a suicide bomber detonated a bomb on a stretch between the metro stations "Sennaya Ploshchad" and "Technological Institute-2". Later, at the station "Ploshchad Vosstaniya", another explosive device was found, which it was possible to neutralize. To date, confirmed the death of 14 people.

According to preliminary information, the perpetrator of the terrorist act was Akbarjon Jalilov, a 22-year-old native of Kyrgyzstan. Investigators believe that the young man first left a disguised bomb at the station "Ploshchad Vosstaniya", and then blew himself up in the train car.
