Authorized by the President of the Russian Federation for Entrepreneurs' Rights, Boris Titov praised the work of the regional authorities under the leadership of Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev to improve the business climate in the region and support small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. The business ombudsman announced this on March 24 at a working meeting with the governor.

"We really see today the effective work of the government of the Sverdlovsk region to improve the business climate. We see that small and medium-sized businesses today are feeling better. This is reflected in the indicators for which we, together with the tax service, are keeping records: this is the number of high-productivity jobs and incomes from small businesses to the budget. I must say that these indicators are growing in the Sverdlovsk region, only recently there have been created 104 thousand new high-performance jobs in the region, "said Boris Titov.

At the same time, he noted that one of the main activities of the institution of the Commissioner for the Rights of Entrepreneurs remains work with the appeals of business representatives on problematic issues. Often, these appeals are related to the conduct of various inspections, primarily by federal supervisory authorities. In addition, the problems of interaction of small retail outlets in municipalities with local authorities and others remain topical.

"I must thank you for the fact that these issues are being resolved, we see very prompt and effective interaction of both the institution of the authorized representative and other business associations and organizations with the administration of the region," Boris Titov appealed to Evgeny Kuyvashev.

The governor stressed that increasing the attention of the authorized representative on the rights of entrepreneurs to the Sverdlovsk region is of great importance, since one third of the economically active population of the region is engaged in small and medium businesses.

"According to the state of small and medium-sized businesses, the essence of the development of the region can be, and the Sverdlovsk region in this case is not an exception. We with the regional business ombudsman Elena Artyukh have developed a number of measures to support the business community and are systematically implementing them. In particular, starting this year, together with law enforcement agencies, we will conduct regular receptions of entrepreneurs who need assistance. Such receptions will begin already in April and will take place every month. For us, feedback from the business community is very important, "said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

Today in the Sverdlovsk region there are almost 200,000 small and medium-sized businesses. Turnover of their products at the end of 2016 exceeded 1.8 trillion rubles. To support entrepreneurship and create a favorable investment climate, the regional authorities are making significant efforts.

So, in 2016, the Fund for the Technological Development of Industry of the Sverdlovsk Region and the system of special investment contracts were established, construction of infrastructure facilities of the SEZ "Titanium Valley" is ongoing, residents are being attracted to the "Bogoslovsky" industrial park, TOSER Krasnoturinsk. The work is conducted in a number of other areas.

In 2016, the annual report of the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs' Rights to the President of the Russian Federation included 16 proposals sent from the Sverdlovsk region.
