The official representative of the German Foreign Ministry Martin Schaefer said that the conflict in eastern Ukraine can not be resolved without painful political decisions on both sides.

According to the diplomat, Germany and France will continue to do everything possible to implement the "Minsk" until Ukraine or Russia withdraw from these agreements.

He also said that members of the "Norman format" would be happy with other proposals that could lead to a solution to the conflict, noting that "Washington and Warsaw have good ideas".
