During the Minsk talks on the conflict in the Donbass, the Ukrainian side suggested that Russia transfer control over the Ukrainian-Russian border to a third party.

This was stated by the representative of Ukraine in the Tripartite Contact Group Olga Aivazovskaya, "Ukrinform".

"The topic of the border is very difficult, and it is not discussed in Minsk as of today. In the TCG, four subgroups have been established, historically in 2015, and there are no subgroups on the border. The boundary as such requires either a separate subgroup of the TAG, or the additional jurisdiction of one of the existing subgroups. I hope that these jurisdictions will appear, "- said Aivazovskaya.

According to her, Kiev insisted on the return of control over the border after the implementation of political and security points, but from the summer of 2016 the proposal became a compromise.

"Regarding the border, they began to talk not in terms of returning it to Ukraine after fulfilling political and security points, noting control as the last almost point. Now they talk about handing it over to a third party. That is, it is a compromise. This is a compromise that will suit Ukraine, but I do not think it will suit the Russian Federation. Nevertheless, it has a rational base, its expediency can be proved and argued, "the negotiator explained..

As reported by the "Observer", earlier Ukraine proposed a compromise on the release of hostages.
