The decision of the US President Donald Trump to freeze international assistance programs for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department left without financing the largest assistance to refugees from Ukraine Mapuj Pomoc.

According to the organization of Polish Radio, they are currently absorbed in the search for potential donors. "

The leadership of the Center is working on unlocking funds through dialogue with partners, senators and government, and also considers alternative financing options. The situation was heated after Donald Trump on the first day of his presidency - January 20 - signed a decree on the suspension of international assistance programs for 90 days.

However, this decision hurt not only organizations that help refugees. Educational institutions were also at risk. Antononina Mikhalovskaya, Deputy Director of the Warsaw Ukrainian School of Szkoua, said that during the school year, funds for projects dedicated to Ukrainian refugees in Poland have significantly reduced. Therefore, the educational institution is looking for new sources of financing.

" We are in a rather difficult situation and in the coming months we must decide on our existence. Unfortunately, we do not have enough funds for functioning, ”Mikhalovskaya noted.

Trump's decision caused a wave of anxiety among Polish public organizations. Many of them are now trying to find new support sources in order to continue their activities in difficult conditions, so the question of the influence of this decision on the life of thousands of people who received assistance through these initiatives remains open.
