In Lithuania, they exposed the supply scheme to Russia and Belarus, detaining four people and confiscating equipment by millions of euros. The Lithuanian customs continues to actively fight against the sanctions, preventing illegal deliveries.

This was reported by the Criminal Customs Service of the country on February 5. Mass searches took place at the offices of the transport company in Vilnius and its environs. On suspicion of violation of sanctions, two citizens of Belarus and two citizens of Lithuania were detained.

The court decided to arrest one Belarusian per month, and the second - by two, regarding the precaution for Lithuanians, there is no information yet. The investigation showed that in 2024 at least 30 vehicles were illegally imported to Russia and Belarus, among which there were tractors, semi-trailers and elite cars-BMW, \u200b\u200bMercedes-Benz and others. The estimated cost of these cars is almost 2 million euros.

A feature of the scheme was that the cars remained officially registered in Lithuania, but at the same time received a new registration in Russia and Belarus. This allowed the owners to circumvent sanctions and carry out the transportation of equipment without risk of confiscation.

This is not the first case of violation of sanctions in Lithuania. In November 2024, the country's customs detained 13 cars trying to import and Russia. In September 2024, Lithuanian customs fined two companies totaling 20 thousand euros for similar violations. And in August 2024, the Lithuanian prosecutor’s office reported more than 50 investigations related to bypassing international sanctions against Russia and Belarus.
