The Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories initiated a meeting with the European Commission and the Polish government due to the fact that the tax authorities of this country massively impede international freight transportation from Ukraine to the countries of the European Union. They unreasonably apply excessively high fines on Ukrainian carriers, in particular due to technical errors or the absence of a GPS signal within a few minutes.
This was reported in the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Sergei Derkach held a meeting with representatives of specialized associations and companies working in the field of logistics and freight transportation.
Derkach called this the biggest challenge, since international road cargo transportation is playing strategic importance for the economy, ensuring the defense forces and the life of citizens in general. In the conditions of war, this is an important source of import of necessary goods from abroad and exports of Ukrainian products.
" We do not doubt the need to register in the system, but many issues need to resolve and settlement, in particular, exorbitantly high fines for technical errors or the absence of several minutes of the GPS signal, ”Derkach emphasized.
It is noted that the Ministry of Development and relevant associations have already received dozens of appeals from carriers regarding unreasonable fines from the Polish relevant authorities. The Ministry analyzes each such case and transfers it to the European Commission and the Polish side to respond and take measures. In addition, in the near future a meeting is expected with representatives of the European Commission and the Polish side to ensure fair conditions for Ukrainian business.
