Employees of the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) discovered and seized the composition of counterfeit alcohol in the Lviv region. As a result, it was possible to prevent the spread of more than 200 thousand. bottles of fake vodka worth more than 23 million hryvnia.

As the BEB reported, the pre-trial investigation helped identify the organizers of the illegal wholesale and retail trade in vodka products. Since the sale of alcoholic beverages was not reflected in accounting and tax records, this led to large-scale tax evasion.

Counterfeit vodka was found in one of the warehouses in Lviv. It turned out that the premises belonged to the owner of a factory for the production of alcoholic beverages.

Detectives discovered and seized more than 200 thousand. bottles of vodka of different names and volumes covered with excise tax stamps with signs of counterfeit. The estimated value of the seizure is more than 23 million. UAH.

Officials and owners of one of the licensed producers of alcoholic beverages and trademark owners may be involved in the production of counterfeit goods. Law enforcement officers are conducting appropriate checks.
