Soon, through DY, Ukrainians will be able to submit an application to the register of losses not only about the death or disappearance of loved ones, damage to health or property, but also about the loss of work, business or forced deportation. It is noted that this will give Ukrainians wider opportunities for fixing their losses and further obtaining compensation.
This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko. The register of losses is the first element of the international compensation mechanism created on the basis of the UN General Assembly resolution of November 14, 2022.
Its launch took place during the Summit of the Council of Europe in Reykjavik in May 2023. From April 2, 2024, the register officially began to accept applications from citizens of Ukraine injured from the war. Applications are submitted exclusively through the state application of DIA, which makes the process as simple and affordable as possible.
Today, citizens can submit statements in 11 categories, including:.
The inclusion of these categories will allow you to document the scale of violations and will become the basis for future compensations that are planned to be obtained at the expense of international mechanisms and confiscated Russian assets. In total, the plans are to open the possibility of submitting applications for 45 categories that cover all the possible consequences of the war for a person and his family.
