In Ukraine, a week later, from April 4, 2025, Law No. 4158-IX will enter into force “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on a Compulsory State Social Insurance”. This regulatory document, in particular, introduces new rules for paying sick leave.

The right to paid sick leave has those for whom ERU is paid. This is not only about employees, but also about the FLP working on the terms of the employment contract. A manual for temporary disability, as well as pregnancy and childbirth, is carried out both at the main place of work or activity, and at the place of work part -time.
“The specified norm will be applied to insured events that will occur from April 4, 2025. At the same time, the changes do not provide restrictions on the number of jobs in combination with the insured persons for whom they have the right to receive insurance payments, ”PFU noted.
Separately, it is necessary to dwell on cases when a person has lost their ability to work due to an accident in production. If we are talking about a person having several places of work, the first five days of the sick leave must pay at his own expense the employer at whose enterprise there was an insured event.
“From the sixth day of temporary disability, the financing of sick leave is carried out by the Pension Fund of Ukraine,” PFU said.
But persons who have only one place of work, the employer at his own expense pays 17 days of temporary disability benefits due to an accident in production or occupational disease.
The amount of payment is 100% of the average salary for the number of days, regardless of the employee’s insurance experience and the number of places of work.
Recall that the average salary has grown in Ukraine. Demand for working specialties will continue to grow due to the active restoration of the country.
