US President Donald Trump ordered to develop mutual tariffs for a number of trading partners. This can be the real beginning of his large -scale campaign against the global trading system, repeatedly criticized for injustice against the United States.

According to Bloomberg, he signed a decree obliging the trade mission and the US Department of Trade to develop a new meeting for each country. According to the candidate for the post of Minister of Trade of Howard Lutnik, the calculations must be completed until April 1, so that Trump can accept them immediately after the presentation.

According to the White House memorandum, tariffs will be adapted individually for each country to compensate for duties on American goods and non -tariff barriers, in particular subsidies, value added taxes, manipulations with exchange rates and weak intellectual protection.

" If other countries charge high duties from us, we will do the same, ”Trump said and emphasized that the United States paid more for a long time, but“ those times have passed ”.

The American president also added that in the future he plans to introduce additional taxes on the import of cars, semiconductors and pharmaceuticals. Among the main examples of unfair barriers, Trump called value added tax in the EU. Also in countries that abuse the advantages in trade with the United States, he carried Japan and South Korea.

Journalists note that new tariffs can really reduce the US trade deficit - for the same purpose, Trump has already introduced 10% of the duties from China and plans to introduce 25% of duties on steel and aluminum in the next month.

At the same time, the unwillingness of introducing such a meeting immediately indicates the readiness of Trump for negotiations with partner countries.

The traders took this as a positive signal, as a result of which the dollar fell, and global stock markets grew. Investors expect negotiations to mitigate the conditions for the introduction of duties and avoid the risk of a full -scale trade war.

" If we achieve this, we will have new jobs, higher salaries and performance, ”said Trump’s trading adviser Peter Navarro.
