On January 1, changes to the Procedure for compensation of expenses for temporary accommodation (stay) of internally displaced persons, approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated January 31, 2024, came into force. From January 1, 2025. compensation for expenses associated with the free temporary accommodation (stay) of IDPs is provided for persons who:.
moved (including repeatedly) from territories included in the List of territories of hostilities/temporary occupation (hereinafter referred to as the List), for which the date of completion of hostilities/temporary occupation has not been determined, and do not have their own living quarters with a total area of \u200b\u200bmore than 13.65 square meters. m for each person from a household located in an area not included in the List;
in which the residential premises, regardless of the size of the total area, have been destroyed or damaged (to the extent unsuitable for habitation) and information about what is included in the Register of destroyed/damaged property, or in relation to such premises there is an act of commission inspection of the object damaged as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, and/.
Compensation is no longer provided for the placement of IDPs who:.
receive a subsidy to pay the cost or part of the cost of hiring (renting) residential premises;
are in a first degree relationship (parents, husband or wife, children, in particular adopted) with the person who placed them in their home;
are abroad for more than 30 consecutive calendar days on the date of verification of eligibility for compensation;
according to the National Social Service, they have not lived in such housing for more than a month;
within three months before applying for compensation, they made a purchase/received free of charge/purchased on preferential terms through social protection authorities/received through charitable organizations, including through international financial assistance, a room in a house, a room in a dormitory, an apartment (house) (.
Persons who had the right to receive compensation and were included in the relevant lists earlier will receive compensation from January 2025. renewed automatically (without additional request) after the PFU checks the relevance of the submitted information. Subsequent verification of eligibility for compensation is carried out automatically by the PFU authorities every six months, starting from July 1, 2025.
Starting March 1, 2025. compensation is assigned for 6 months for new applications regarding the placement of IDPs, for which compensation will be paid for the first time. Payment of compensation for the second six-month period is continued by the PFU automatically after verification of the respective eligibility of such IDPs to provide compensation for them.
Persons who have expressed a desire to accommodate IDPs in their residential premises provide information about such premises to the Prichistok web resource or to the PFU authority. Availability of information about residential premises in the specified list is not a mandatory condition for receiving compensation by persons who accommodated IDPs.
To assign compensation starting from January 2025. during an appeal to the PFU authorities in March 2025. certificates of registration of IDPs must indicate the address of the temporary residence where compensation is awarded, and the certificate itself must be issued no later than January 2025.
The amount of compensation is calculated by the PFU authorities on a monthly basis and amounts to 450 hryvnia for each person per month.
