The World Bank decided to assess the damage from the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in a short time, as well as calculate the needs of Ukraine in order to restore the hydroelectric power station. This was announced by the Vice-President of the Security Council Anna Bjerde.
“The destruction of the Kakhovka HPP has many very serious consequences for the provision of vital services and for the environment in general,” Anna Bjerde tweeted, “The World Bank will support Ukraine with a rapid assessment based on recent work by RDNA”.

Since the beginning of the Russian war in Ukraine, the Security Council has made similar reports twice. According to the second rapid assessment (RDNA2), in 2023 Ukraine will need $14 billion of investments for a priority recovery.
In general, the government of Ukraine, the World Bank Group, the European Commission and the UN, as of February 24, 2023, estimated Ukraine's needs for recovery at $411 billion.

Recall that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian military, after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, expelled people from the premises of their homes in the significantly flooded city of Golaya Pristan and placed their positions on the roofs. They also banned the evacuation from the village of Cossack camps.
