The Cabinet of Ministers amended the regulation on the National Police, thanks to which law enforcement officers have new powers. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk in Telegram.

According to him, now the police will be able to carry out, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, border guards, the Security Service of Ukraine and the special transport service, the fight against saboteurs and illegal paramilitary groups.. Also, the National Police got the opportunity to help the State Border Service to identify channels of illegal border crossing, movement of weapons and ammunition.

Melnychuk noted that the police will also be able to control the receipt of payments to the state budget within the framework of administrative fines and other sanctions, as well as ensure and implement measures of the legal regime of martial law.
