The new generation of the electronic payment system (EPS) will work from April 1, 2023. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank.

The new system will operate on the basis of the international standard ISO 20022 and around the clock (24/7). In this regard, you should be aware that:.

the ISO 20022 standard unifies payment documents, creates uniform principles for filling and processing them, expands additional information, the requisite composition of a payment instruction, which makes it possible to automate payment transactions and improve customer service;

the round-the-clock mode of operation of the EPS provides for the execution of interbank payment transactions without suspending the operation of this system and an instant transition from the current calendar day. The amount of the executed payment instruction will be displayed on the account of the SEP participant on the date of the calendar day where it was posted through the SEP.

In this regard, the National Bank, in particular:.

established a new procedure for conducting interbank payment transactions through the accounts of EPS participants in terms of the rules for the formation, exchange and processing of electronic messages;

updated the procedure for entering information on the inclusion or exclusion of a SEP participant in / from the Directory of SEP participants;

updated the procedure for the implementation by the bank and its branches of interbank payment transactions according to the corresponding model of servicing the consolidated correspondent account;

established requirements for the list of information and information about the non-bank payment service provider, which will be contained in the Directory of non-bank payment service providers;

settled the issue of execution by EPS participants of interbank payment transactions of non-bank payment service providers;

updated the procedure for performing interbank payment transactions in the national currency through correspondent accounts opened by resident banks in other resident banks.
