Such indexation was provided for by the Law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Improving Pension Legislation” No. 2040-IX dated February 15, 2022. To implement this Law, the Cabinet of Ministers even adopted an additional resolution " The document, in particular, clarifies the procedure for indexing pensions specifically for civil servants, since their calculation differs significantly from ordinary pensions..

The expert noted that the main problem is that the decree will enter into force only after the abolition of martial law, namely: “from the first day of the month following the month of cessation or cancellation of martial law”.

That is, the Pension Fund will have to make two calculation options for such pension cases and choose the most profitable one: either leave the current old-age pension or return the old civil servant’s pension, but taking into account the new indexation.
