Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov, officially recognized as a whistleblower of corruption in a case where he was offered a bribe of 22 million euros, will receive 10% of the bribe amount for this. How to follow the example of the mayor, said the Anti-Corruption Action Center.

" Therefore, he asks to transfer them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a good deed,"

But there are a few nuances and clarifications:.

No one physically brought a bag of 22 million euros. This is the size of the bribe offer. That is, there was no physical money. According to the prosecution, the payment was to be made within 5 years (until 2027) after the tranches from the EBRD. But it was not possible to realize the plan, primarily thanks to a message from Filatov..

10% of the amount of the bribe is paid only after the conviction is passed by the court, and not just upon the recognition of someone as a whistleblower. Now the case, according to Filatov’s statement, has just gone to court, it usually takes a year or more to consider such cases. Therefore, the money will not be transferred soon.

The maximum amount of payment to a whistleblower is set at 3,000 minimum wages. In the case of Filatov, this could be 20.1 million. UAH. That is, it will be significantly less than 10% of 22 million euros (+/- 85. 8 million UAH).

The reward is paid to the whistleblower at the expense of the state budget by the treasury bodies.

By the way, in order to qualify for a reward, the amount of unlawful benefits must exceed 5,000 living wages.. As of now, this is UAH 13.42 million.

" This is such a payment in the future, subject to a guilty verdict and money has yet to be found in the budget. But we believe that they will be found in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,"

Recall that in October, NABU detectives exposed the former people's deputy in an attempt to give Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov 22 million bribes. October 19, the mayor of Dnipro confirmed that they tried to bribe him.

According to the mayor of Dnipro, when he was offered a bribe, he went to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Officials are required to do so in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "

According to the Anti-Corruption Action Center and a number of media outlets, Maxim Mikitas tried to give a bribe. It is also indicated by the mention in the report of the Bureau of the case of embezzlement of funds for the apartments of the National Guard, in which the detainee is treated as an accused.

On February 6, Boris Filatov announced that he was handing over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine his "
