$17 billion needed to quickly restore infrastructure, energy and housing - Shmyhal

For the rapid restoration of energy, humanitarian demining, restoration of housing, critical and social infrastructure this year, Ukraine needs 17 billion. dollars. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting.

“Actually, the issue of rapid restoration of the energy system became one of the key issues at yesterday’s meeting in the format of the Financial Ramstein. A huge budget deficit of about $38 billion needs to be financed this year.

Another $17 billion this year is needed for the rapid resumption of energy, humanitarian demining, rebuilding housing, critical and social infrastructure,"

The International Monetary Fund was reported to be exploring a multi-year $16 billion aid package for Ukraine to meet the country's needs and boost international funding.. If this plan is approved by the end of March, the 3-4-year program with a total cost of $14 to $16 billion will provide for the first payment of $5 to $7 billion as early as April.
