Following the misfortunes in the form of fires and explosions that have plagued critical infrastructure in the Russian Federation in recent months, troubles have spread to the territory of its ally in the war in Ukraine - Belarus. Such a conclusion can be drawn from the reports of the Belarusian media.

On January 23, in the city of Mozyr, a fire broke out at one of the largest oil refineries - the Mozyr Oil Refinery.

Rescuers were informed about the release of water-containing gas and diesel fraction, followed by flare combustion in one of the sections of the heavy oil residue hydrocracking unit. The fire was extinguished, there were no casualties, the causes are being established.

On the other hand, it is noted that at present the unit has not been put into operation and is at the stage of commissioning.. And therefore, it is not known what residues could burn in an installation that was not put into operation..

Earlier, on January 19, another fire broke out at the refinery late in the evening.. Rescuers were informed about the release of hydrogenation products followed by burning due to depressurization of the filter of the combined hydrocracking unit for heavy oil residues. Then the technological process of the enterprise was not disturbed.

And a month earlier, at the end of December 2022, the Naftan oil refinery was on fire in Belarus. The fire broke out in one of the tanks..
