Since martial law continues in Ukraine, the holidays on December 26, 2022, January 2 and January 9, 2023 will be regular working days, which are taken into account in the norm of the number of working days per year, however, there is an option when these days can also be days off. The State Labor Service provided clarifications on this matter..

Thus, the Labor Code of Ukraine defines 12 days a year as holidays and non-working days during which work is not carried out (in particular, New Year and Christmas).

As noted in the department, in peacetime we are used to if the holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday - we also rest on Monday. In the winter of 2022-2023, Monday 26 December should have been days off (transfer of the day off from 25. 12. 2022), January 2 (postponement of the day off from 01. 01. 2023) and January 9 (postponement of the day off from 07. 01. 2023).

But during the war, everything is different..

Holidays are not days off and are not transferred to the next day after a holiday or non-working day..

Recall that during martial law, articles of the Labor Code relating to weekends and holidays are not applied, and in practice this means that there are no official holidays and non-working days in Ukraine. But at the same time, the work schedule and rest time during martial law are set by the employer.
