“The four-month MPZR program, approved by the IMF leadership, is designed to help Ukraine maintain stability, as well as catalyze donor financing in the face of very large balance of payments needs and extremely high risks,” the message says..

The program aims to mobilize revenues as well as restore the domestic debt market. It also provides for the preparation of a strategy for the financial sector, increasing transparency and governance.

The program does not provide for the allocation of new tranches, but it will help attract funding from other international donors in 2023.

“Financial support will be critical to the success of the government’s strategy, and payments in early 2023 will help overcome tensions,” the statement said..
