Bankers named the main challenges for the banking system, one of which is Ukrainians who left the war abroad. This was discussed during a round table on the topic "

So, after the first six months of a full-scale war, bankers already understand what problems await them next..

" The second is an increase in the share of non-performing loans. The National Association of Banks of Ukraine, together with banks, worked out several ways to solve this issue. And there is a draft law. The third - for some banks, with a share of 15%, this is dependence on the already expensive refinancing of the NBU. The fourth challenge is the loss of part of the staff either due to migration or mobilization,"

And the fifth challenge is the mass migration of people abroad. According to bankers, the absence of a part of the population in the country negatively affects economic activity and the volume of transactions in Ukraine and makes it impossible to physically visit the branch when it is necessary.

At the same time, banks that cut costs and continue to develop remote interaction tools see a change in the structure of funds raised. Also, due to the high discount rate, banks are actively withdrawing from the NBU refinancing and are reviewing lending approaches in order to limit risks..

" The banking system is strong and powerful, but you need to understand what will happen next, and how much is enough,” said Elena Korobkova.

Sergey Panov, Chairman of the Board of Credit Dnepr Bank, states that liquidity risks, credit and interest risks are coming to the surface.

"

Even individual rumors can destabilize the work of banks.

"

Recall, on September 10, the National Bank of Poland terminates the program, according to which citizens of Ukraine could exchange hryvnia for zlotys at the official rate without commission at PKO Bank Polski. Such an exchange was provided for by an agreement between the national banks of Ukraine and Poland.
